AMATEUR: One of my sweet sponsors (The North Face) are gonna start with some kind of monthly updates. I’m doing mine like a small edit. Here are some screen-shots. You think they will like it?
Katapulto with a beer.
PRO: I also saw that Transition.se posted a sweet video from Rhythm. I don’t know what that is, but I liked the video! My good friend Rolf Nylinder from Frontside Fly was skating smooth. I like his style. (Hope it’s ok I have an opinion, even though I don’t know shit about skateboarding). Take a look:
Yesterday I was sent out by Pape to get a gpx-file from the Hammarby Hill course. Hammarby Hill is a bike race he wants me to participate in. But after being guided through the course by a pretty creepy gang (we can call them “The Spandex Sect”), I not so sure about my participation. The fact that all the “mtb” races are more like small/dirt road races also sucks. It felt like 70 % of the course was small roads, and that a no-suspension cross bike, or something like that, would be the fastest option. So we’ll see…
But today I’m going biking with Pape and Calle Friberg. He’s one of the fastest in Sweden (former pro who’s won the Swedish Champs a few times), and I’m trying to prepare myself for the humiliation the afternoon will offer me. He might also be a part of this “Spandex Sect”, but I think he’s alright. Ha ha. But seriously – gonna be super cool to bike with him, and I hope he will teach me a move or two (guess he’s gonna propose the “Train more you lazy fck”-move).
Every monday Junkies On a Budget are releasing a new trailer. This week it’s from We Make Them Wonder.
Some photos (if you read at Freeride.se, you need to click the photos to see the captions):
They’re not that many. But… I like them anyway.
LEGENDARY shitfuck-summer. Been raining so much. GAAAAAHHH!!!
Went to Saltis to watch the World Champ qualification in “Döds” (Death). Jump from 12 meter, go for bellyflop as long as you dare, then try to land and not kill yourself. There were no serious injuries, but my friend Adam Widén is now lacking one eardrum.
This dude kind of stole the show though. Crazy!
Haven’t imported photos or videos from this camera since June. I think it’s time soon…
Went to search for new trails with Pape yesterday. Found some. Good times!
Part four or the mtb instruction video from Canyon and Kadens. “Stökig terräng” is my specialty in life. Ha ha.
And then I found this video of Stefan Ågren from Frontside Fly, doing his version of the Ephemera Vulgata. He’s fast goddammit!
Last days has been some biking, and some work. I’m finding new routes in Nackareservatet and Sicklaskiftet all the time, so I’m so stoked on biking. My biking partner in crime, Pape, also wants me to starts on a really serious schedule, so that I can start compete, and get as fast as he is. I don’t know… Biking is good for legs and knees and… pretty much everything. So maybe it’s not a bad idea.
Anyway, have to get back to a Whistler story with a deadline that’s closing in really fast. Here are some phone shots:
Big VW Passat. Good for everything. Like delivering bikes. This one’s not for me though. It’s Kadens that are gonna try the new carbon fibre bike from Canyon. Would be really stoked to try that out later!
Just read this. Classic.
A couple of days ago, Be a was screaming loud when we walked out of the apartment. “WHAT IS THAT?!”. But it was just our neighbors cat/rat. He’s cool.
rage against the machine is one of my all time favorite bands. Tom Morello was their genius guitarist, with a Bachelor from Harvard. Cool guy.
Trees. Trails. Wolfs (?). Legs.
Saw this wasp one breakfast, and had to try what he liked most. He went for both, but I think more crazy with the honey.
Cuts are never fun. Cuts on bread knives extra not fun.
Went and had dinner with Sverre Liliequist, Hanna and their two kids. The youngest one already likes to fly.
On the way home. Is that yellow leafs? Darn…
Yesterday I met this dude in the woods. He was a bit “special”, and announced “I’ve been here for a few hours, but now I’m gonna go home to mom and eat waffles.” Special, and cool.
It’s been a strange summer. Haven’t been fishing that much. Haven’t been biking that much. What have I done?! Working more I guess. But yesterday I was biking with Pape for the first time in a while. Maybe for the first time this summer. So fun! He knows the area here a lot better, and all the good trails. Going for it tonight again. Good to be back on a full suspension bike too. It’s a less fancy bike, but I like myNerve XC 8.0 a better than the CF-bike I used last week.
Next episode in the MTB school:
RENTED a movie with Bea the other day. Movie was ok, but the producer!!! Dodson, best name ever (don’t expect everybody to understand).
“Good morning. One karate coffee and one 20 mg Omeprazol, thank you.”
“I swear I had my underwear here somewhere…” We found some kind of waterhole in the middle of the Nackareservatet. Tasty water.
Other kind of people also liked the place, I think. Falken?
Went straight from the mud to a beer at the half-fancy bar Göteborg in Hammarby Sjöstad. Best beer in a while, even if the new-(almost)rich looked at us in a strange way.
Had a nice weekend after the bike race this friday. Bummed I missed the bet, but it was pretty good anyway, thinking about the amount of training I had before…
Was pretty much just picking berries and fishing (was shooting some fishing with Daniel Rönnbäck. Fun!) the last days. Now I’m back in Stockholm, and have some work to do. Pumped to get back into the biking here too, and get back on my full suspension bike (Canyon Nerve XC 8.0). The CF bike was fast, nice, and perfect for that race. But for the biking here around Hellas, this is better.
Still stoked for big cars, that doesn’t drink gas. I was about to buy a bike rack (don’t know the english word here, sorry) for my VW Passat. But I can easily get two bikes and lots of stuff in it if I convert the back seat, so… I don’t really need it. Ha ha. We’ll see when the mud season starts soon though…
And since the skiing season actually is closing in – here’s another trailer from Junkies On a Budget:
Here are some iPhone shots from the weekend.
Blueberries for the winter. Important! We got about 15 liters now. Should be enough. We brought Bea’s parent dog too. “The Princess”. I’m not 100 %, but she’s potentially one of the most spoiled dogs in Sweden.
Went fishing with Rönnbäck Saturday. Saw a new water. It was nice!
More picking on sunday. Blue ones for the freezer. Red ones for eating. My favorite…
More fishing. Another new water. Saw a lot of big fish!
But didn’t catch anything else than some People Beer. It’s not that bad though!
And yesterday Be a came fishing too. She wanter to try “one of those floating things”. She got a nice rainbow trout! It was fun, but I need to make her DoD in the future…
This is Vansbro. It’s half an hour south of Bynn. And these people are called “Epa Raggare”. An “epa” is the only car you can drive from 16-18 in Sweden. Maximum speed: 30 km/h.
Big car! Bellyboats or bikes, doesn’t matter. (Don’t worry Stefan – the bikes were safely embedded in towels and sleeping bags).
