The last days I had in Engelberg was really epic. Fast pow on top, sunny and warm in the valley. I was shredding with Oskar, Yves Husler (coolest name in snowboarding), Mattias Hargin, Bolling and the rest of the good guys down there. Here’s a video of some of the happy-shred that went down. Enjoy it, and spread it:
When you go to a destination, you always have a time window. There’s always a date when you have to go home. Sometimes you kill it within that timeframe, and sometimes you don’t. That’s the name of the game… We got some good stuff in Haines, but not as much as we wanted. Just a little bit of bad luck with mini-injuries in the group, and too much sun, is enough to make difference between success and mediocre.
Enough of the whining! I’m back in Euroland now. Sitting in Zurich Airport and waiting for my skis, that didn’t make the same flight as me… Engelberg didn’t have the same problem as AK, since it seems like it have been snowing a lot there! So, stoked to ski tomorrow after sitting on my ass for ten days!
First of all: Skied a couple of hours with the new ABS backpack from The North Face, and… Fckn great! It’s built on the Patrol 24 Pack, which is the pack I use the most, and then they just kind of added the ABS technology. = awesome backpack with ABS!
Another fun thing. The guys from Winter Project released a new episode. It’s a bit different, but fun to see what they’ve been up to. I’m gonna hook up with them later this spring to do some shooting. Here’s the episode:
This morning, I came to think of a thing (again). I really like coffee. So I made this movie. I named it The happiest moment of the day. And I feel fortunate that I’m going to bed now, and already are looking forward to some coffee tomorrow morning!
First we had a day in the resort, with good snow and good stress from a couple of other film- and photo teams. The second day we spent some time in the heli. Flew with Bohag Helicopter, and a ridiculous pilot. Extremely skilled, that is. Had just the guide we wanted too, as local hero Thomas Odermatt were guiding us to the goods. Good times!
Here are some of my photos. I also got some good ones from Thomas. I’ll post them later.
Back in Sweden now. Had a sweet last weekend in Canada. Me, Mattias Fredriksson, Kye Petersen and Ian Morrison went to Backcountry Snowcats. Hopefully I can manage to do a small video edit from that trip soon! On monday we did the last portraits of some Whistler profiles. Eric Hjorleifsson, James Heim and Matty Richard was captured.
