Another epic day

Today was another epic day, but short, and sweet! Had three good runs with Oskar EnanderDaniel Furberg, Petter Widén, Matilda Rapaport and Piers Solomon. Then at 11 I went down and drove to the Tecnica / Blizzard sales meeting. Meetings aren’t as fun as shredding, but I was really stoked on seeing all the new next level gear here. Gonna ski all tomorrow. WOHO!

Fun gangshred in Engelberg

Had such a fun day with a good gangshred here in Engelberg. It was me, Per Jonsson, Edvard Berg, Wille Lindberg, Patrick Vuagnat, Peter Nilsson, Linus Archibald, Jesper Robertsson and some other people. Good times! Inspiring with a bunch of fun riders to shred with, and hopefully we’ll get some vision tomorrow so that we can continue!

I skied on the 196 Bodacious the last days, but went back to the 186 today. For this kind of skiing, that was better. Fun! Stable, but still short and more playful than the more kick ass 196.

Engelberg above the clods

Had a sweet day in Engelberg (partly) above the clods, together with some local shredders I don’t ski with that often. Good times! Here are som pictures.

Andermatt gang shred

Have been to the neighbor resort Andermatt a couple of days now, shredding with the Björk Brothers, Kristoffer Turdell, Eric Zeller and some more locals. Here are some pictures. Good times! Click on the photos for captions if you’re reading at Freeride.se.

Have been down in the village a few days now, being sick. It’s kind of weird, cause I can’t remember last time sickness kept me away from skiing for this long. It’s only a week, but it still sucks. My lungs are hurting, and I’m coughing like hell.

Anyway, today I went up on the mountain with Patrick Vuagnat, and up there we hooked up with Simpa, Linus Archibald and Mattias Hargin. I didn’t really have any expectations, but I got so surprised!

I ve been skiing the 186 Blizzard Bodacious since new years, but went back to the 196 today, and… I really like it. I like long skis! The 186 is perfect for most people I guess, and I really like shredding on it in Canada. But it just feels easier for me to have a longer ski. More stable.

Also went back to a fleece jacket I kind of forgot that I had – The North Face Radish Mid Layer (check last picture). It’s a fleece with a tight hood, that I use as balaclava. My favorite. No snow down the neck!

Well, check the pics. If you’re reading at Freeride.se, you need to click the photos to read the captions.

Characters and bad forecasts

Had a day off today. Pretty good for my legs I guess, even though it sucks so bad to sit in front of the computer for a whole day. Jason and Aidan went shredding for a while, but couldn’t reallt make it happen with the weather.

It’s kind of difficult right now. The last proper dump is new a few weeks back, and the snow is… super fun to ski, but not super easy to shoot in. Too fast for pillows, and not really sun on any bigger lines. Still good times here in the Sweetgrass house! But a dump wouldn’t hurt, for sure. The sad thing is that it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna snow for a while. Bummer…

Here are some characters from this house. A lovely house. And some snow shots from the last days.

We’re trying pretty hard to get stuff done here in Nelson. It’s been difficult, since it’s a long time since the last snowfall. But we’re shooting stuff you don’t want to shoot when conditions are epic, so it’s good times anyway! Trying to be creative.

The rest of the Sweetgrass crew, Nick Waggoner and Michael Brown, just came back from the Sentry Lodge, where they have been filming Kye Petersen, Eric Hjorleifson, and Zack Giffin. Dream team, and dream snow. Saw some of the footage, and… Next level footage.

Some pocket camera shots (if you’re reading at Freeride.se, you have to click the pics to read the captions):

Beautiful sunset

Today I saw one of the most… Ha ha. I say this a lot. But it was! A very beautiful sunset… Sunsets are beautiful. Molly and me did some touring during the day (she crushed me), and then went to hook up with Ben to see if we could shoot something in the sunset. Well, we couldn’t, except for that sunset. And… That was fine enough! Here are some pics, in wrong order.

Epic day in Nelson

Have been an epic day here in Nelson today. Started off a little slow, but ended really nice! Sweetgrass‘ filmer Jason, and still sharp shooter Max Lowe, got some good shots, and I got tired as hell.

Really stoked on a lot of my new gear, but I think the most comes out of the new Tecnica boots I started using – the Cochise 130 Pro. It’s the first boot I have with walk mode. I’ve always just had regular boots before. But… Jesus… Such a big difference uphill, and… NO difference downhill. Just the way it should be!

Early wake up call tomorrow, so I should probably clean up my teeth and go to bed…

Cloudy powder in Mürren

It was high and low in Mürren today. Cloudy, but with some powder, so I think Schenholm got a couple of shots. It’s been pretty warm though, so it’s hard to find good snow. But, it’s still so beautiful here. Nice or not, tomorrow morning we leave for Haslital. And it’s gonna be sweet to see what they have to offer!
