So i signed up as a forerunner when i didn’t make it to the finals, the venue looked way to much fun to not accept a Heli lift to the tops then get first tracks.
A little edit of the day.
Now I’m on my way home to Åre to change out some gear and see the family before we head of to Chamonix for the next FWT stop!
So the Competition today didn’t go as planned, For some reason i couldn’t get my mind in the right place and had a hard time picking a line. So my skiing got stuck somewhere in between and i crashed. Oh well, getting some nice riding here and charging up for the next competition in Chamonix.
Hanging out in Tahoe while we wait for our trip north. Heading to Mt Baker to get some practice before the contest in Revelstoke on the 6th. We have to get out of Tahoe where we only get to ski man made snow, beautiful but not really good practice.
Trails are good but dont fall outside!
Ok so sitting here in Crystal mountain thinking about staying here over Christmas with the girl a new mail popped up in my in-box. The FWT announced two major things. First a new major sponsor for the tour that is going to be presented in the upcoming week.
Also, new stops. Revelstoke and Courmayeur. The Revelstoke event will take place on the 6-11 of January with the MSI/IFSA guys like Kirkwood last year but with fewer riders. So i guess ill just stay put until i realized i dont have all my gear, but luckily i met the US Dynastar guy who lives at the same area as my GF so i dont think its going to be a problem. All we do now is to pray for more snow.
First day of skiing was also our first day on the 8848 Altitude Shoot in Crystal Mountain Washington. Snow is both good and bad, great base and the whole system is open, the snow is great for skiing but it would be nice with some fresh snowfall for the photos. I’m not complaining, not used to get this much snow on the season premiere. Day two is up ahead with another day of bluebird.
I’m stoked
Work work
Finally the temperature has dropped below freezing and the snow cannons is blasting away. Meanwhile the course for the Red Bull Crashed Ice is under construction, its not going of until February but it need to be built before the snow, looking forward to it!
Enjoying my time back in Åre, It sure doesn’t let me down with sun and a nice hike with Jackie and Stella the lemming killer, think she got to around se7en when i stopped counting. Winter is getting closer and I’m stoked for this winter.
A couple of random stuff from the last few weeks.
Minigolf ala Americana
Drinks with JT Holmes and Cody Townsend
Visit to Mammoth
Enjoying a quiet TV evening when this pops up, kinda annoying but necessary i guess
Cliffs at Emerald pools
Me and Jackie went on a road trip down to Yosemite national park. Really cool place although a little bit crowded, if you’re ever in California i highly recommend at least a trip into the valley and any of the day trip you can do there, some requires a permit. We went up the Mist trail and then back down on the John Muir trail. Lots of sight per footstep.
Got to see a Bear up close on one of the hikes, it was a cub so we were worried where mom was but it seemed like that cub was alone and might be old enough to be on its own.
Stayed in the park for two nights at a camp site outside the valley and had a great time.
